Ravens Rally to Overtime Win against Grizzlies

The Anderson University women's basketball team rallied to an 80-75 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) overtime victory against Franklin College on Saturday in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.

Franklin (8-13, 7-8) held a 71-64 lead with 2 minutes, 18 seconds left in regulation. The Ravens (14-7, 11-4) ended regulation on a 7-0 run to bring the game into overtime. Makynlee Taylor scored the final four points in regulation, making layups with 1:09 to go and 23 seconds to go.

COACH JON GIN'S COMMENTS

This was a gutsy win. We came out flat; credit to Franklin as they jumped on us early and had a great game plan. They frustrated our guards all game long, but I thought our team did a great job of persevering through a rough shooting night and finding another way to win. We upped the defensive pressure in the fourth quarter and hit some clutch shots. The fans gave us a huge lift in overtime and we rode that momentum into some great defensive stops.
